The Demogorgon is lurking…it’s on the loose somewhere in Constellations…
Join us this Halloween Friday as we jump on our choppers and ride to Hawkins, Indiana – home of the mysterious world of hit TV show, Stranger Things. Draped in 1980’s nostalgia; the wooly jumpered, arcade game playing, monster hunting show has captured over 14 million viewers to date! Inspired by the cult-like status that Stranger Things has already garnered from its fervent fans, our friend Peter Nance has decided to throw himself head first into the Upside Down and bring us…Scouser Things!
With over three months and “five panicked sleepless nights” going into creating this experiential event, we can only expect to be taken back in time with everything from ‘The Department of Energy,’ an 80’s-themed band, to a Stranger Things quiz run by the Liverpool Film Book Club with loads of nostalgic prizes…There’s even Eggo Waffles for sale!
Step into Constellations as you’ve never seen it before…Think alternative dimensions, pillow forts and misty forests…
“I was inspired to create this event by the mood and vibe of the show,” Peter tells us. “Stranger Things has a unique ability to enthral such a wide audience, and leave a feeling of nostalgic anticipation long after the credits have rolled. We are trying to capture a bit of that and mix it in with the buzz and hype surrounding the next season, and also the excitement that this time of year brings.”
Having worked alongside the Netflix team before, Peter is no stranger to creating immersive and other-worldly sets: “The party is most definitely a one of a kind celebration of the 1st season of an extraordinary show, and to gear us up for the release of the 2nd. However, there are lots of references in the artwork and music to enjoy, evoking other big 80s movies and shows. We have gone all out to make you feel like you are really there in Hawkins!”
Proceedings will get underway at 6:30pm, with a Stranger Things Quiz running until 8pm. Prizes will include a load of nostalgic toys and merch from the show. The Department of Energy will then take to the stage at 9pm, playing classic tracks from the 80s right the way through until 10:30pm. Our DJ will then spin vinyl all the way till 2am, keeping the dancefloor boogying until the early hours.
In Peter’s own words: “Go for the Pumpkins. Go for the period authentic furniture. Go for the demo-gorgeous Department of Energy and Film Book Club Quiz. Go for Will!”
